Due to the riots that have paralyzed the city of Baltimore, Wednesday's Major League Baseball game between the White Sox and Orioles at Camden Yards is getting an earlier start time and will be closed to the public.
A statement from the Baltimore Orioles front office read, "After consultation with Major League Baseball and city and local officials, Wednesday's game between the Orioles and the Chicago White Sox will begin at 2:05 p.m. ET and will be closed to the public. The Orioles will also play their three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays, scheduled for May 1-3, at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., while serving as the home team"
The change comes after Monday and Tuesday's games between the teams were postponed due to safety concerns after rioting and looting broke out near the stadium.
Violent clashes between police and youths, according to news reports, are the aftermath of the death of Freddie Gray on April 19 after suffering a fatal spinal injury while in police custody.
