Attorney Requesting Bond Reduction For Plano Teen Accused Of Sexual Assault

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - The Plano High School baseball player accused of sexually assaulting children is expected in court Wednesday.
Zachary Holifield's attorney, Pete Schulte, is asking for a bond reduction saying the $600,000 bail is too high for a 17-year-old.
The affidavits claim Zachary Holifield admitted to having sexual contact with the girl three times.
According to the affidavit, the girl told interviewers Holifield on one occasion picked her up and carried her to the day care's restroom for the contact.
The daycare is in the home of Holifield's mother, who the girl's parents referred to as the babysitter in an affidavit and state records show there would only have been a few children there at any given time.
Plano ISD says the 17-year old is entering his senior year and has had no contact with younger children through such events as baseball camps.
Holifield's attorney Pete Schulte issued the following statement:
"Zach is, just like every citizen accused of a crime in this country, innocent until if proven guilty in a court of law. The fact that Zach has been charged in these cases means nothing more. The information, as written by Plano PD investigators, is not what it appears to be. Therefore, I respectfully ask that the public withhold passing judgment until all the facts are known."
According to Plano police, 17-year-old was arrested June 20 after being accused of sexually assaulting two children.
