Leather makes everything better

Leather is one of the carry-over trends from last year and is having an even stronger presence in fall wardrobes this season. Whether it's a rockstar chic moto jacket or a small patch on a shift dress, leather is still a must-have staple for fall. Lysse', a brand specializing in women's leggings, is revitalizing the leather trend with its use of vegan leather on equestrian-style leggings. Easily paired with longer tunic blouses, stiletto pumps or combat boots, Lysse' leggings are extremely versatile, affordable and offer a creative take on the leather trend. Instead of full-on leather pants this fall, go against the grain with a pair of Lysse's side-panel ponte or ponte equestrian leggings.

Go for gray this fall season

Variations and blends of this top color choice for fall are popping up everywhere—on freshly manicured hands, large tote handbags and cold weather footwear. While gray may not seem like the sexiest of colors for fashionistas, it is one of the more simple and complementary fall colors for pairing. If you are a fanatic for pops of color, you can still combine gray items from your wardrobe and further accentuate this cool tone with fuschia, mustard and rust-colored clothing items. If you are a man looking to take advantage of this fall color, try a gray-colored button-down shirt or sweater with a colorfully accented scarf or pair of trousers.

Channel your inner rock and roll style

This fall will be about an edgier approach to fashion. Studded blouses, shirts and shoes have trickled their way into your closets in earlier seasons but now as more retailers are encouraging rock star chic styles, studs, moto jackets and spiked-out footwear will be some of the items to carry you into the fall. For a more polished look, pair a leather (or vegan leather) moto jacket over a silk blouse with a pair of dark-washed jeans and studded stiletto heels. Simple outfits such as these give the appearance of "rocker chic" and glamorous without appearing overdone. Upgrade your look to even more glam by wearing more outgoing accessory pieces that still have the appearance of ultra-elegance but contain an edgier appeal—such as any of the items from the Purple Aura jewelry collection. These pieces are high in quality, super versatile and daringly unique.

Play with prints

Long gone are the days of pairing solids on solids. As fashion continues to push the envelope and becomes even more daring, designers are taking more risks and introducing playful prints in most of their collections. Animal prints are still a big hit for fall being worn easily with more red and mustard-toned items. Aztec and geometric print lightweight sweaters are also great for fall and can be layered or belted for a great fall outfit. Do not shy away from prints—push the envelope with these fun and often crazy patterns; you may find yourself slowly incorporating them more often into your wardrobe.

Layer to your heart's content

Layering is one of the basic and most fundamental concepts for the fall. At times, it seems as though it could be an art form in and of itself, but combining the right textures, fabrics and prints could give way to some great fall fashion outfits. Layering can be as simple as putting a chunky cable knit sweater over a leather dress or a crisp button-down shirt or over a soft high-low blouse. Top any of these looks off with an infinity scarf or multi-stranded necklace and it has easily transitioned into a colder weather-inspired outfit. Layer as you please and go for more boldness this season and try prints on top of prints. This fun option may be difficult at first to master, but once done correctly, is one of the more trendier fashions for this fall.
