DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Dallas police say arrests have been made in the fatal shooting of a grandfather as he protected his family from masked intruders.

Police arrested 17-year-old Jose Alfaro and his 16-year-old girlfriend, whose name has not been released.  Both are charged with capital murder.

Police say 66-year-old Lorenzo Moreno was fatally shot early Sunday at his residence.  Officers have not said what sparked an apparent feud involving the victim's granddaughter and some other youths.

Police say several suspects tried to confront Lorenzo's teenage granddaughter, who was beaten by the attackers. Moreno's 62-year-old wife and their 34-year-old son were also beaten. All three were treated and released from a hospital.

In the arrest warrant affidavit, police described what allegedly happened during the attack.  Click here to read the affidavit.
