IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - Two people have been arrested for using stolen credit cards that came from a woman who'd been in a rollover crash Sunday morning, September 27.
It happened in the 3400 block of W. State Highway 114 in Irving.
The vehicle rolled over several times during the crash causing the driver to become disoriented. After getting out of the car, the victim was approached by a suspect who handed the victim her purse and said he was going to call for help.
Shortly thereafter, the man got into a pickup truck and drove away leaving the victim stranded on the roadside. The victim discovered that her wallet, containing her driver license, credit cards, cash and other items, had been stolen.
The initial investigation revealed fraudulent activity on one of the victim's credit card accounts.
Detectives have identified Shakir Sharrieff and Cortney Anne Martin in connection with the fraudulent use of the victim's credit card information. Thursday both suspects were taken into custody at a Dallas motel.
A search of their room yielded some of the victim's stolen property. Sharrieff and Martin are currently in the Irving City Jail; Sharrieff on a charge of Theft U/$750.00 ($1,000.00 bond) and Martin on a charge of Credit Card Abuse ($25,000.00).
Detectives are continuing with their investigation.
