NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) - Law enforcement officials in North Richland Hills are looking for a man who briefly kidnapped a woman before stealing her car. This happened Wednesday afternoon in the 5200 block of Rufe Snow Drive.

Police stated that the victim was in a parking lot at around noon when the suspect approached her with a handgun. He forced the woman into her vehicle and then drove the victim's car behind a vacant building located in the 6500 block of Iron Horse Drive.

Once there, the armed suspect released the victim and took off with the woman's car, a gray 2008 Toyota 4Runner with the Texas license plate CYF-1075.

The suspect has been described as a 45-year-old man of either Asian, Pacific Islander or Hispanic heritage, with a dark complexion. He is tall with a thin build and has white hair. He was wearing blue jeans and brown shoes, and carrying a backpack.

Police are investigating this case in possible connection to a sex offender who escaped from a Fort Worth halfway house on Wednesday morning. Charles Sprague walked away from the facility, cut off an electronic monitoring device and has not been seen since. There is now a substantial reward being offered for information that leads to Sprague's capture.

Anyone who might have information about Sprague, the North Richland Hills case or the victim's stolen car is urged to call 911 immediately.
