Arlington Standoff Ends With Capture Of Ark. Murder Suspect

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - An attempt by Arlington police to serve a felony warrant ended with several units at an apartment complex being evacuated.

Federal marshals along with police from both the Arkansas and Arlington Police Department were attempting to arrest a man wanted in Arkansas for capital murder.

When officers went to the home in the 2100 block of Park Boulevard the two people inside, later identified as wanted suspect Kendrick Hampton and his aunt, refused to come out.

A subsequent standoff lasted for more than four hours, with police trying to coax the pair to leave the home. Ultimately the two surrendered without incident.

Hampton was taken to the Arlington City Jail. His aunt has not been charged.
