Arlington Shooting Leaves 1 Man Dead, 2 Others Injured

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Arlington are still piecing together a series of events that ended with one man dead, two other people injured and at least two arrests.

Police were called to a house in the 4700 block of Shadyway Drive around 11 p.m. Thursday. When they arrived they found that someone had been shot. "Officers showed up at the home, they found that there was a deceased man inside the home," Arlington police spokeswoman Tiara Richard explained. "So it's still sort of evolving as detectives and officers continue to talk to the multiple witnesses and continue to collect evidence."

Officers inside the home weren't the only ones who responded to the scene. As police arrived a vehicle drove away from the location and was pursued by another squad car. That silver-colored, 2-door car was pulled over near Interstate-20 and Matlock.

Officers found two people, Rocyel Lemar Bradford and Kambresha Lyvette Jackson, inside the car.  Bradford, 28, had been shot in the leg. Jackson, 20, had some type of cut or gash injury to her head. Neither of the injuries was life threatening. Richard said the two, "...were actually taken into custody after receiving medical care, because they had outstanding warrants unrelated to this case."

Bradford's outstanding warrants were for evading arrest/detention with a vehicle and three misdemeanor traffic warrants. Jackson' soutstanding warrants were for probation or parole violation.

Police have not released the identity of the man found dead in the house. "The people who are in custody obviously we have identified," Richard said. "Whether they are victims or suspects… what they are in the case is what we haven't determined."

Investigators have also interviewed another person who was in the house where the dead man was found.
