Arlington Police Still Searching For Rape & Kidnapping Suspect

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The man who kidnapped and raped a woman in Arlington in July of 2014 is still on the loose. Investigators said the suspect may have ties to the area where the offense occurred.
"We believe he knew the area very well and may have been watching the actual parking lot when the woman drove into it," said Lt. Christopher Cook with the Arlington Police Department.
On July 26, 2014 at around 1:35 a.m., a woman was parked at a sports bar in the 2200 block of E. Abram Street. As she was seated in her car, a man approached her and entered her car while displaying a handgun. He forced her to drive to an industrial area in northeast Arlington where he assaulted her. During the commission of the assault, the woman grabbed the man's gun and fired it at the suspect.
"Based on her testimony and evidence found on the scene, investigators believe he may have suffered a gunshot wound in the arm of upper torso area," said Lt. Cook.
Officers searched the area extensively into the next day but were unable to locate the suspect.
The victim described her attacker as a Hispanic male, approximately 38-45 years of age, with a possible tattoo on the front of his torso. The suspect spoke Spanish but is believed to also speak English.
