Arlington Police Officer In Hospital Fighting Colon Cancer

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Officer Alan Webb with the Arlington Police Department has served his community as a patrol officer for nine years. But, this past summer, he was diagnosed with colon cancer. Webb was placed on light duty at the police department until two weeks ago.
Webb is now in the hospital, fighting to get better. Despite battling cancer, Webb never complained, and was not one to call in sick. After his diagnosis, while on light duty, he assisted in investigating hit-and-run crashes. Sgt. Dana Richerson stated, "He was one of our most proficient traffic officers we had on the shift."
This is actually Webb's second career. The former football player coached junior high school football before he decided to stop and become a police officer nearly 10 years ago. The father of four is a devout Christian and his family's only source of income. And his medical bills are mounting.
The police department is donating meals to Webb's family twice a week, and praying for his recovery while trying to find him another job.
