Police Look For Suspect In Fatal Arlington Bar Shooting

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Arlington are looking for a suspect who they believe shot and killed another man at a bar early on Sunday morning. The incident happened at about 1:40 a.m. at a location in the 2400 block of East Arkansas Lane.

According to Tiara Richard with the Arlington Police Department, multiple witnesses saw the suspect and the victim engage in a physical altercation at the Arlington bar. Gunshots were fired and people started to pour out of the location.

Police officers arrived to find the suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Austin Nguyen of Fort Worth, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was quickly transported to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth, where he was then pronounced dead.

The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Nam B. Tran. According to Richard, Tran fled from the scene after forcing himself into a woman's car with the driver still inside. The female driver was dropped off, uninjured, near the intersection of State Highway 360 and Park Row Drive. That stolen vehicle, a white 2004 Acura sedan, was recovered in Euless later on Sunday.

Tran now faces a murder charge. This is the 15th homicide in Arlington so far this year. If you have any information that could be related to this case, you are urged to contact the Arlington Police Department or North Texas Crime Stoppers immediately.
