Arlington Police Investigating Attempted Child Abduction
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Arlington police are searching for a man who tried to grab a young girl near her home.
Twelve year old Belen Sanchez was walking to her family's apartment on the 2000 block of Willow Point Drive, Thursday afternoon, when she saw the man following her.
"Right here I started running," she said.
The stranger caught up and grabbed her.
"He had his hand like that and his hand on my mouth like this," she said.
Sanchez said, the man was dragging her backwards, and she started to fight back.
"That's when I bit him and started screaming. I mean, I got scared," she said.
Neighbors heard her screams, and her attacker panicked and ran.
Sanchez said, she is still shaken up by what happened.
"I mean, just thinking that he did that, it's terrifying," she said.
Police released a sketch of the suspect and describe him as a Hispanic male in his 20s, with slightly curly hair, styled with gel. He was wearing a Dickies short sleeve shirt with a name patch and dark blue pants.
Sanchez remembers the name on the patch started with the letters "MA" and ended with the letter "O".
Call Arlington Police at 817-459-5373 if you have any information regarding this attempted abduction.
