Arlington PD Looking For Suspect In Deadly Shooting
ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Arlington police are trying to track down whoever shot and killed a man Wednesday night at a convenience store.
Police first got wind of the shooting when a health worker at USMD Hospital called and said someone had showed up at their emergency room.
"They discovered that the individual had been brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest," explained Arlington Police Department Sergeant Dace Clifton. "He'd been dropped off at the location by a friend, who left prior to Arlington PD arriving."
The man was later identified as Kedrick Davis of Grand Prairie. The 20-year-old was rushed to Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth but died.
Police were able to track down the person who dropped Davis off at the hospital. "We have connected with that person," said Clifton. "Investigators are following up on leads and investigating this entire situation to determine exactly what happened and specifically who's responsible."
Police are looking into whether the shooting occurred during a drug deal at a south Collins Street convenience store.
Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to call the Arlington Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (817) 469-TIPS (8477). A $1,000 reward is being offered.
