Arlington Paramedic Heading Back To Work With Brain Tumor

ARLINGTON (CBS11) - Arlington paramedics have rallied around one of their own who was diagnosed with cancer in October.
Damian Jay said he visited the doctor because he was suffering from frequent headaches. A biopsy revealed it was cancer.
"They said you have a tumor and it's cancer," said Jay. "At first it was rough. Nobody wants to hear that and you hit a big state of depression."
Jay said he initially only shared the news with this family and his partner in the ambulance, fellow paramedic Mike Malloy.
"Once he told me what was going on it was kind of like, the record player stopped," said Malloy.
When Jay shared the diagnosis with his coworkers, they created a GoFundMe page to help with medical expenses and serve as a support system on the bad days.
"When it's all said and done we are family," said fellow paramedic, Ryan Lee.
Jay has completed a round of chemotherapy and doctors will monitor the tumor's growth.
On Thanksgiving, Jay received some good news. He was cleared to go back to work.
"It's been a month and half since I've been at work and I can't wait to go," said Jay.
