Arlington Native, Jaguars OT Luke Joeckel Gives Back To Area Foster Children
ARLINGTON, Texas (1080 KRLD) - North Texas native and pro football player Luke Joeckel will be in Fort Worth today to share a little pizza and perspective with area foster kids and share a "slice of life" as an NFL football player.
An Arlington native, Joeckel was picked by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the 2013 NFL draft out of Texas A&M.
Due to his success in the pro football field, Joeckel recently donated $25,000 to Lutheran Social Services of the South (LSS) to help with foster family programs in the North Texas area.
Joeckel said his donation to LSS "will help to train foster parents to take care of the kids that need help - and the event will hopefully mean a lot to the kids, as much as it means to me - to put a smile on their face and create some excitement."

Jockel's grandfather, the former pastor for Grace Lutheran Church in Arlington, was 'very influential' to Luke and his siblings saying "He kept us very involved in the community," one of the main reason he wanted to give back to the community via Lutheran Social Services.
