ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Arlington resident Eric Bledsoe, 57,  will spend at least 60 years in prison for sexually abusing a four-year-relative who was staying at his home.

Prosecutors say the little girl told her mom and aunt about the abuse immediately after leaving Bledsoe's house back in March 2013.  The child's mother called Child Protective Services, and CPS called Arlington Police.

When questioned by police about the abuse, Bledsoe blamed the child for the inappropriate acts.

"This defendant was arrogant enough to blame his abhorrent conduct on a four-year-old child," said Prosecutor Kelly Meador. "The jury didn't buy it and he has the rest of his life to think about it in prison."

During the punishment phase, another female relative, who is now 21, told jurors that Bledsoe sexually abused her when she was nine years old.  Charges were never filed in that case.
