Arlington Man Guilty Of "Continuous Sexual Abuse of Children"
TARRANT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Last week a jury found a North Texas man guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of Children and Indecency. On Monday he learned his fate.
Charles Samuel Burgess II was sentenced to 99 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
The parole option was negated because Burgess, 65, was found to have committed "continuous sexual abuse of children."
During the trial evidence was presented that Burgess sexually abused two underage sisters when they took "birthday trips" alone to his house in Arlington.
Both girls, who were 11 and 10 years old respectively when the abuse started, testified during the trial. The oldest girl described the abuse and said her firs kiss was from Burgess.
The youngest girl testified that she was encouraged to play "strip connect 4" with Burgess who had her undress when she lost.
Burgess was also assessed the maximum $10,000 fine.
