Arlington Man Gets Life For Stalking & Killing Woman
NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A North Texas court agreed that a 25-year-old Arlington man spent months stalking and terrorizing a woman before shooting her dead. Today Roshan Sah was sentenced to life in prison for the murder.
Prosecutors presented evidence that Sah, who was attending a North Texas college, met Linda Villanueva-Rodriguez at church in 2010 and became obsessed with her. He stalked Villanueva-Rodriguez for months; even after the 22-year-old woman told him she was not interested in a romantic relationship.
Sah followed the young woman to work and church and is suspected of slashing the tires on her car. It was almost one year after meeting her that Sah purchased a gun. He bought it after finding out that Villanueva-Rodriguez had a boyfriend.
On the evening of February 16, 2012 Sah went to the victim's apartment. Villanueva-Rodriguez wasn't at home at the time, but Sah waited and when she returned Sah shot her once in the head.
Of the murder Assistant District Attorney Steve Gebhardt said, "This Defendant stalked and terrorized Linda for more than a year before murdering her shortly after Valentine's Day."
After the shooting Sah went to a friend's apartment and searched the internet for information on Villanueva-Rodriguez, trying to find news stories confirming her death.
The investigation into the murder quickly led authorities to Sah. He was arrested the next day in Irving and confessed to the killing.
Sah's life sentence does come with the possibility of parole, but not before he serves 20 years behind bars. If Sah is ever released from prison, he will be deported back to his native country of Nepal.
