Arlington Kicks Off Warrant Roundup On Halloween

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Forget to pay that speeding ticket from eight months ago? Arlington's finest may soon be paying you a visit, cuffs in hand.

With more than 140,000 outstanding warrants in the city, the Arlington Police Department kicked off its so-called Warrant Roundup program on Halloween.

The department has mailed more than 16,000 letters to folks in the city with outstanding warrants, officials say, and reminders are also found on electronic billboards along the city's interstates.

Then, to avoid arrest, call the city at 1-888-604-7888, pay online, or visit the Arlington Municipal Court in the City Tower at 101 S. Mesquite Street downtown between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

Failure to take care of the warrant could mean jail time, Arlington PD says.
