ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Arlington Police Department was notified of a possible abduction attempt Wednesday evening.

A teenage girl reported that she was jogging in the 2500 block of Gilbert Circle at around 6:15 p.m. She said that she was approached by two men in a dark blue SUV. The teen reported that the first three letters of a license plate possibly contained "CW8."

The teen said that one of the men, who was driving the SUV, exited the vehicle and told her to get inside of the vehicle, and attempted to grab her while displaying a knife.

The teen was able to run away to a nearby apartment. One independent witness heard the teen screaming, but did not see the suspects or suspect vehicle. Investigators believe that the vehicle might have continued eastbound onto Abram Street based upon an interview with the victim.

The man who was driving was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, 140 pounds, around 40 years of age with short dark hair.

Investigators have canvassed the area and will continue working the case to identify the vehicle and suspects. Anyone with information related to this offense is asked to contact Detective Caleb Blank at 817-459-5735. Tipsters can remain anonymous by calling Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS (8477), and may be eligible for a cash reward.
