Argyle Boys Win First State Hoops Title

AUSTIN (CBSDFW.COM) - For the first time in school history, the Argyle Eagles won the Class 3A boys basketball state championship in Austin on Saturday with a 44-33 win over Corpus Christi Miller.

Senior Clarke Overlander, who will play college basketball at the University of North Texas, scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Eagles. Senior Connor York, who scored 13 points, broke open a tight game with key 3-pointers in the second half.

Three other Dallas-Fort Worth area schools - Flower Mound Marcus, Dallas Kimball, and Brock - are playing in state title games today.

8:30 p.m. - Marcus vs. Fort Bend Travis

Class 4A
3:30 p.m. - Kimball vs. Houston Yates

Class 3A
Argyle 44 Corpus Christi Miller 33

2:00 p.m. - Brock vs. White Oak
