App For Pizza Hut Rolling In The Dough
There's an app for that, and it's now making big bucks for Dallas's Pizza Hut. They put out their iPhone application almost a year ago, and Pizza Hut says it has helped them make 7 million dollars in sales. The experts say Pizza Hut is the trendsetter in how other restaurants can use smart phone based apps to generate orders and money.
Pizza Hut has seen 2 million people download their app in the last year.
Richard Mader, executive director of the National Retail Federation's association for retail technology standards, said apps will become standard as soon as next year, and any restaurant that falls behind will lose out in the competition for dining out dollars.
