Another Person Arrested For Threatening Kaufman County Official
KAUFMAN (CBSDFW.COM) - A second person has been arrested in Kaufman County for making a threat against a county official.
Sources said that Robert Miller is now sitting behind bars for an alleged threat against an assistant district attorney, who was set to try him on a criminal charge. The supposed threat was made in a post on Facebook, but the nature of the words has not been released.
This news comes just one day after authorities confirmed the arrest of another man in relation to threatening comments.
Officials with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office confirmed Wednesday that 56-year-old Nick Morale of Terrell was arrested Tuesday for making a terroristic threat against a county judge. Morale allegedly made the threat over the phone, using a tipline set up for obtaining information about the murders of District Attorney Mike McLelland and Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse.
While the alleged threats had nothing to do with the murders, authorities said, the situation was not taken lightly. "Making threats against persons carry criminal penalties under both state and federal law," said Lt. Justin Lewis with the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office. "All threats will be taken seriously, investigated and prosecuted in order to ensure the safety of citizens and our public officials."
