NORTH TEXAS – A First Alert Weather Day is in effect across North Texas through Sunday afternoon due to widespread showers, cool temperatures and potential reduced visibility from fog. Conditions are expected to clear by late afternoon.

Saturday was a soggy and chilly day, with Dallas-Fort Worth recording 0.32 inches of rainfall by 4 p.m.

A southerly flow will continue to bring moisture over the next several days. Calm winds and cool mornings will likely result in fog on Sunday and Monday mornings. Drivers should use low-beam headlights when driving in areas with low visibility.

By Monday, warmer temperatures are expected ahead of a major cold front. Highs will rise to the upper 60s on Monday but will drop to the lower 50s on Tuesday. The good news is that the frontal passage will only cause a temperature dip, with no rain expected.

Cooler air will settle across North Texas from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, which means another freeze is possible.
