Angry Residents Demand Safer Conditions Downtown

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A hostile crowd confronted Dallas city leaders Monday night over what they say is an unsafe downtown.
More than 100 people who live and work downtown packed a meeting over recent crime concerns.
The meeting comes after last week's carjacking of a woman in the parking garage of her apartment building.
The victim of last week's carjacking, Sarah Hoff, attended the meeting and urged police to demand more security measures from property owners and landlords.
"I thought the meeting went well and a lot of people brought up good points," Hoff said.
Police promised to increase initiatives to discourage panhandling and other quality of life issues that residents say is a growing problem.
