Andrew Card Named Dean Of Bush School At A&M

COLLEGE STATION (AP) Texas A&M University says former White House chief of staff Andrew Card has been named acting dean of the George Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.

The university announced Card's appointment Tuesday. He'll fill in for Ryan Crocker, who has taken a leave of absence as the Bush school dean to serve as the new U.S. ambassador to Afghanistan. A&M spokesman Tom Hughes says Card, who has served three presidents, will hold the job as dean until Crocker returns.

Card served President George W. Bush as chief of staff and his father, President George H.W. Bush, as deputy chief of staff and as transportation secretary. He also worked in the Reagan administration.
