AMR Resumes Talks With Employee Unions
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - American Airlines will resume negotiations with two of the largest employee unions this week. The airline's parent company, AMR, will meet with maintenance workers and store clerks on Monday in hopes of coming to a consensual deal. They are two of the seven workgroups that make up the Transport Workers Union, which rejected the company's contract offer back in May.
Now, the TWU is trying to strike up a new deal.
AMR has already reached a deal with the union for pilots, but its members will still have to vote on the offer. And just last week, the company made good progress with the flight attendants as well. Negotiations are expected to continue this week.
If AMR cannot reach a deal with either the flight attendants or the transport workers, a judge will have to decide on the terms.
