American Eagle Announces Pilot Furloughs

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) -  American Eagle has announced that it will furlough 50 of its most junior pilots starting April 5th.

The move is part of the bankruptcy reorganization of its parent company, AMR.

American Eagle's CEO, Dan Garton, also told employees that the company will soon post "displacement bids" for pilots and flight attendants to better balance schedules.

Garton calls the move regrettable but necessary.
