American Airlines Pilot Facing Federal Child Porn Charges

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - An American Airlines pilot is facing federal child pornography charges after disturbing images of children were found on his personal computer.

According to the criminal complaint, Christopher Holmes, 55, used online chat services and email to exchange pornographic images.

"Holmes described in detail his desire to torture, rape and then massacre young children at a school," according to court documents.

Law enforcement tracked Holmes down through his IP address based on messages he exchanged with another man, Jeffrey Hussinger, who lives in Wisconsin.

Investigators determined that Hussinger frequently exchanged messages with Holmes from 2007 through 2010 using Yahoo and AOL messaging services.

Once investigators learned Holmes was employed as an American Airlines pilot, they placed a "look out" on him to alert Customs and Border Protection if he tried to leave the country.

Based on that "look out," Holmes was held for a secondary search when he tried to board a flight from DFW to Guadalajara, Mexico on August 16, 2013.

Customs agents found several images of children engaged in "sexually explicit conduct" and a chat log containing "sadistic and violent descriptions" sexual and violent crimes against children.

An American Airlines spokesperson says Capt. Holmes is being withheld from duty. Holmes is scheduled to appear in a Fort Lauderdale, Florida federal court Monday afternoon.
