American Airlines Adds New Services From DFW
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - American Airlines announced today that it is adding a number of new services to its' domestic and international schedules. The airline will launch service to markets in Asia, Europe and Latin America, with Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport playing a key role.
Starting November 4th, customers will be able to book flights direct from DFW Airport to Seoul, South Korea for travel starting next May, as well as flights to Lima, Peru starting in April.
Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, who serves as a DFW Airport Board member, applauds American Airlines expansion from DFW.
"Connecting DFW International Airport with direct routes to Korea and Latin America continues our growth to being one the hottest international markets in the world. Dallas' business growth in Korea and Latin America are the underpinning of making these routes successful."
American says they've also added flights from New York to Dublin and Chicago to Germany starting in April. The flights will be in cooperation with British Airways, Iberia, and Japan Airlines.
American Airlines also released a statement to investors, lauding the move as a positive step in delivering on the airline's business plan and network strategy designed to offer customers more choices to new destinations.
"We continue to strengthen American's service from our hub markets to enhance our international offerings and better meet customer demand," said Virasb Vahidi - American's Chief Commercial Officer. "Nearly one-third of Fortune 500 companies are located in our five hub cities, and these new routes will provide more convenient access for our business travelers to key international destinations."
American Eagle will also now fly from DFW into Beaumont and Port Arthur.
