Alert Canceled After 5-Year-Old NRH Boy Is Found, Mother In Custody
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS (CBSDFW.COM) -- An Amber Alert has been canceled by police after a 5-year-old boy who was abducted by his biological mother from his North Richland Hills residence has been located.
The mother, Jennifer Lynne Echeverria, has been arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon/ Family Member and is being held on $250,000 bond.
Jagger Curry was taken by Echeverria, his non-custodial biological mother, Friday morning. Authorities say Echeverria is only allowed supervised visits to see Curry, who currently lives with his maternal grandmother.
Around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, Echeverria was at the grandmother's residence in the 9200 block of Glen Haven Court and threatened the resident with a weapon and demanded the child.
Echeverria fled the residence with her son in a 2003 Silver Lexus, RX 300. Police located the vehicle a short time later in the 4900 Block of Loraine Street in Haltom City.
As officers searched the area, the suspect and her son were observed walking through the neighborhood. They were taken into custody without incident.
Jagger appeared to be in good condition and will be returned to his grandmother.
