Amber Alert Suspect Caught In North Texas
TEMPLE (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Authorities in North Texas have arrested a man who was at the center of an Amber Alert that was issued by the Temple Police Department on Friday afternoon. Police said that 29-year-old Vincent Corson Jr. abducted his 2-year-old son and fled from the area.
The child, identified as Isaiah Corson, was believed to be in immediate danger. According to authorities in South Texas, the father was wanted for allegedly shooting his wife on Friday morning at an apartment complex.
Officers with the Dallas Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety caught up with Corson's car -- a maroon Mazda sedan -- on Friday afternoon at the intersection of Interstate-30 and Gus Thomasson Road in Mesquite. Several squad cars responded to the scene.
The suspect is now in police custody. The child appears to be fine and is being taken to Dallas Children's Advocacy Center. The man's injured wife is still being treated at a hospital in Temple. Authorities said that she had been granted a protective order against Corson.
