Allen Police Search For Limping Burglar

ALLEN (CBSDFW.COM) - Allen Police are searching for a man responsible for a string of four burglaries in a three-hour span on Thursday night.

The man, who appears on security footage with a slight limp, carried a cane with him during the burglaries.

"That may be a ruse," said Sergeant Jon Felty with Allen Police. "He may be totally healthy and he just may be doing that to shield or conceal who he is."

Police say the suspect may be trying to look and act older than he really is.

The man broke into a number of business at strip centers in Allen, including a hair salon, pet hospital, dry-cleaners, and nail salon.

Sergeant Felty says the man twisted off door locks and pried open cash registers, escaping with cash, a mounted television, and a cash register itself.

The suspect is described as being under 5-foot-9 and between 40 and 50 years old.  He wears wire rim glasses and has a thin mustache.

Police say the man was last seen driving either a 1998 or 2003 black Lexus SUV.

If you have any information about the suspect or incident, you are encouraged to call Allen police or email streetcrimes@cityofallen.org.
