AL West Champion Rangers Welcomed Home By Awaiting Fans
Hundreds of Rangers fans waited to greet the team as they arrived home to Rangers Ballpark in Arlington late Sunday night. After clinching the American League West title on Saturday, the Rangers came back out Sunday and walloped the A's in Oakland, 16-to-9. After boarding a flight for home, they arrived around midnight at the Ballpark where many of them park their cars before leaving on road trips. After beating Oakland 4-to-3 on Saturday, the Rangers secured their first divisional championship since 1999, before any current Ranger joined the major league club. There's one week left in the regular season before the Rangers open the playoffs on the road on October 6th. They'll play either the Rays or the Yankees, depending on which team wins the American League East.
