Affluenza Teen Being Released From Texas Rehab

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The so-called Texas affluenza teen, Ethan Couch, is being released from a Texas State Hospital in Vernon. But the CBS 11 I-Team has learned that he will not be going home.
Several sources close to the case confirm Couch was released on Thursday and there are plans for him to enter another type of treatment facility near Amarillo.
In December of last year the now 17-year-old pled guilty to driving drunk and killing four people. During the sentencing phase of his case defense attorneys claimed couch suffered from affluenza. The judge sentenced Ethan to 10 years probation and rehabilitation.
Investigative Reporter Mireya Villarreal recently spoke with the widow of Brian Jennings, the pastor who stopped to help a stranded motorist, about Ethan's upcoming release.
She said she knew it was inevitable and is relying on her faith, family and friends to get her through this.
"I don't wish bad things happen to him. I really wish and hope and pray that he can get his life right and be a productive part of society," Shaunna Jennings told us.
Sources tell the I-Team Ethan Couch could be going to a treatment facility near Amarillo called Cal Farley Boys Ranch. We reached out to them this afternoon, but they would not comment on whether Couch was expected to be admitted.
