Aerial Spraying Resumes In Dallas County
DALLAS COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - The aerial spraying for mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus will resume Sunday night.
Weather conditions canceled spraying Saturday night and on Friday and Thursday operations were cut short.
The insecticide used for the aerial spraying, DUET, is not effective during rain or high winds.
220,000 acres of land are scheduled to be sprayed starting at 8:30 p.m. Spraying will take place in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell, Dallas, Farmers Branch, Garland, Grand Prairie, Mesquite and Richardson.
Spraying could possibly be extended to Monday and Tuesday night if recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
