Addison Preparing For Kaboom Town! Fireworks Show
ADDISON (CBS 11 NEWS) - Addison Kaboom Town! is this Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until Midnight. Known as the "largest fireworks show in Texas" it's a popular destination for many people.
Barbara Kovacevich, Director Special Event for the Town of Addison told CBS 11 Kaboom Town! is one of Addison's biggest events. "It's our 29th annual and we'll have about a half a million people in four and half square miles come out and watch our show."
Addison Circle Park holds about 25,000 people and tickets to the free event went quickly this year so we looked at some of the best watching parties in town.
Cantina Laredo holds one of the biggest parties in Addison. They fence off the parking lot for an outdoor party where they expect 3,000 to 4,000 people. They'll be serving tacos, nachos and other items along with beer and margaritas plus from 8:00pm to midnight enjoy a live steel drum band. It's fun for the whole family, with bounce houses and games throughout the night.
Across the street at Chamberlain's Fish Market Grill is a watching party with a different feel says Chef Richard Chamberlain, "It is really a decadent way to spend Kaboom Town." "You sit inside and have an incredible three course meal and then after your meal you go out into our back parking lot where we have chairs lined out and the servers continue to bring you wine and cocktails." They are offering a set menu priced at $59.95 per person and space is limited and reservations are required.
This year a new comer to watching parties that you may not think of, Whole Foods. From 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the patio they will be grilling hamburgers, hotdogs and vegetable. Plus inside they'll have a cake walk and tab takeovers at the bar.
Regardless of where you plan to watch the big firework show the time to make your plan is now. Some of the location have limited seating and require reservations.
