Accused Killer Of Plano Mom Extradited To Collin County Jail
MCKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) – Terrance Black, the man accused of killing Plano mother Susan Loper in April, was extradited from Arizona to the Collin County Jail Tuesday night.
Black, 48, was being held in the Coconino County Jail in Flagstaff, Ariz. after he fled from authorities and hurdled over the rim of the Grand Canyon, falling 25 feet below. Park rangers noticed him panhandling there on April 22, hours after Plano Police issued a warrant for his arrest.
Loper was abducted April 19 from the Gleneagles Country Club in Plano, where she worked as a Pilates instructor for more than 16 years.
The next morning, Plano police found Loper's body in a wooded area near the Dallas North Tollway by tracking a TollTag attached to her Toyota Rav4.
Black fled the state, although police searched his home the day Loper went missing. According to the search warrant executed at Black's Frisco residence, police found Loper's workout room at the country club in disarray and blood in two different locations.
The warrant noted an "apparent struggle" and three live 9mm bullets were recovered at the scene. Loper's family told police they suspected Black, who had a history of being "extremely agitated and combative" toward Loper, in the disappearance.
Black tried to fight the extradition, but the state Attorney General's office requested it and Arizona followed through, a spokesman said. Black has been charged with capital murder and is being held on $1 million bond. He will be arraigned in Collin County Wednesday morning.
