Accused Killer Of Frisco Woman Fights Evidence Against Him
McKINNEY (CBSDFW.COM) -- The man accused of killing a Frisco fitness instructor in Plano was in court today trying to get evidence against him suppressed.
Terrence Black's attorneys say a computer seized with damaging evidence was illegally obtained.
Its been more than a year since Susan Loper was murdered.
Despite the passing time, there were glares and tears from the eyes of Loper's friends when the accused killer was led into the courtroom as he tried to keep evidence against him from being introduced in his upcoming capital murder trial.
Attorneys for Terrence Black want the judge to suppress evidence investigators obtained in the hours after Susan Loper disappeared on April 19th, 2011.
The fitness instructor was taken from her studio at Gleneagles Country Club in Plano after a bloody struggle early that morning.
Authorities soon suspected the 48-year-old former boyfriend and searched his Frisco home.
While they were searching for the missing 40-year-old single mother they say they came across a computer with the screen already on a webpage about how to win your girl back.
The murder case against Black is built on the motive that he was obsessed with her.
Detectives testified that the computer was turned on when they arrived and they did not search it.
But a defense forensic expert testified they were on it for 53 minutes and illegally downloaded material damaging to Black.
Loper was found a day after her disappearance in a Frisco field and had been beaten to death.
Black was arrested days later in Arizona after falling 25 feet into part of the Grand Canyon while trying to run from authorities.
