AA, Pilots Union May Be Close To Deal
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - There is indication American Airlines and it's pilots union may be close to a contract deal.
The Allied Pilots Association has called special meeting this weekend in what may be the end of a 5-year contract negotiation. APA's Greg Overman says American management and the pilots are motivated to get a deal.
"They have said they want to end negotiations soon. We definitely agree that would be a great idea for everybody so that's what we're trying to do."

The urgency in getting a deal may be driven by a spike in pilot retirements, trading volatility in parent company AMR stock and reductions in the number of American flights in the fourth quarter.
