NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - There's no question -- Texas is known for it's love of barbeque! So, there's a certain amount of envy going around over a new lottery game in North Carolina.
People buying scratch-off tickets dream that they'll soon be smelling money. But with the new 'BBQ Bucks" scratch-off players actually smell pork. That's right, they're scratch and sniff tickets!
BBQ Bucks smells like smoky barbeque. While the $2 ticket has four top prizes of $25,000, anyone who takes their losing tickets and enters the second-chance has a chance to win 100 lbs. of pork and a Big Green Egg Grill with accessories.
The lottery's executive director, Alice Garland, said, "People in our state love their BBQ and this ticket is a fun way to celebrate that tradition."
There are other states that have scratch and sniff lotto tickets. Colorado has a coffee-scented scratch-off. There are chocolate scented tickets for sale in Florida and Missouri. And you can buy a bacon-scented scratch-off in Indiana.
No word if the Texas Lottery Commission has plans for any scratch-off and sniff tickets here.
