A Family Pleads For The Return Of A Little Boy After The Death Of His Mother

DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- A family is grieving the loss of a sister and praying for the safe return of her missing son.

An Amber Alert for 4-year-old Ricardo Lara remains active as investigators work to try to bring the child home.

Gabriel Romero Medina was looking forward to seeing his sister, Maria Isabel Romero Medina and nephew, Ricardo in a matter of days.

He had plans of flying into town to see young boy receive a school award.

"Be able to witness that and spend the rest of the holiday with them," said Gabriel.

Gabriel said he is praying for little Ricardo Aleksander Lara's safe return.

On Saturday, An employee at Sanchez Insurance and Tax office would find Medina's lifeless body inside her workplace.

"She's a single mother and was working. She just wanted a better future for her son," explained Gabriel.

Today the owners of Sanchez Insurance let investigators back into the building, but not divulging any information to the media expect to issue statement saying,

"Out of respect for the family we really don't want to say anything."

Denton Police strongly believe the child is with his father Ricardo Martinez. Medina was not married to Martinez.

"We just want justice to be done," said Gabriel about his the death of his sister

Since the Amber Alert went into place investigators said they have received many helpful leads.

Working with Texas Rangers and the FBI as they try to bring the 4-year-old home. Medina's family asks the public to keep searching for their little boy.

"That's my little boy. I want to see him, I want to get him back," said Medina "I appreciate them helping us and please do t stop their calls."
