A Beautiful Day To Talk About The Weather

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - One of the highlights for the CBS 11 Storm Team each May is Weather Day at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.  The chance to combine sunshine and baseball always makes for a good day.

Before Thursday's Rangers game against the A's, the CBS 11 team taught a few thousand North Texas kids about how clouds are formed and what to look for during a thunderstorm.

But this year, the weather got some of the credit for a great Weather Day.  "We had a blast out here today," said meteorologist Garry Seith, "A little on the warm side, but no thunderstorms out here today."

The festivities didn't end with the presentation either.  Chief Meteorologist Larry Mowry got the chance to try out his skills by throwing out the first pitch.

CBS 11's Tracy Kornet also had a hand in the pregame festivities.  She and rising star Destani Wilson combined for a duet on The Star-Spangled Banner.

And even while the Rangers didn't come out on top Thursday, (They ended up losing to the A's in 10 innings) a great time was had at the Ballpark.  Take a look at some of our pictures:
