911 Calls Show Frantic Moments In Rockwall Shooting, Chase

ROCKWALL (CBSDFW.COM) - Newly released 911 calls released by Rockwall police revealed the frantic moments after alleged gunman, Anthony Lewis, shot his ex-girlfriend and her friend in a parking lot in Rockwall.

Police say former Hunt County Constable, Anthony Lewis, shot his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Aguilar, and her companion that night, Francisco Delacruz, multiple times in front of several witnesses Saturday night.

Aguilar's oldest son, Jaime Puente, told CBS11 his mother and Lewis broke up 6 months ago.

911 Operator: Sir, how many shots were fired?

Witness: Uh, probably about 5 or 6. I got a lady here, she needs an ambulance bad. It was at point blank range. She is hurt bad.

Another woman who called 911 said this: "I don't know who they were but we were walking form our car and some guy jumped out of a car and shot this woman at point blank range."

Rockwall Police today revealed today Aguilar was shot multiple times in the chest and abdomen. Police say Delacruz tried to run when Lewis began shooting, but Lewis shot him several times in the back.

Aguilar died at the scene. Delacruz is in serious condition, according to Rockwall police.

After the shooting, Lewis fled the scene, but not before witnesses were able to get a good look at the suspect and his vehicle. Witnesses were able to provide 911 operators with a description of Lewis, his license plate and a description of his back mini Cooper.

When officers spotted Lewis in Garland, he refused to pull over. Then he led police on a high-speed chase through 3 counties.

The chase ended in Greenville, after police used stop sticks to damage his vehicle. When Lewis exited his vehicle, he had a gun in his hand, and officer opened fire.

Lewis remains at Parkland Hospital in serious condition, police said. He will likely remain in the hospital for 1-2 months, doctors told police.

The Texas Rangers are investigating the shoot out between officers and Lewis.

Lewis, a 25 year law enforcement veteran, now faces charges of murder and attempted murder.
