$8 Gets You Inaugural Lunch With Gov. Perry

AUSTIN (AP) - The 2011 family-friendly Texas Inaugural will include an $8 per guest barbecue lunch with Governor Rick Perry and Lt. Governor David Dewhurst.

Details on the January 18 celebration with the GOP leaders were announced Tuesday.

Organizers say it's a scaled-back celebration, compared to previous years, as Texas faces a projected $20 billion budget shortfall.

The inaugural is made possible through ticket sales and private funding, not state money.

The swearing-in is free to the public and will be on the south steps of the Capitol at 11 a.m. on Jan. 18. The barbecue lunch on the grounds of the Capitol, with advance reservations recommended, will follow.

The inauguration will not include a parade. Cocktail attire is recommended for the evening's invitation-only party.
