71-Year-Old Woman Found Murdered In Dallas Home
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A 71-year-old woman was found dead in her North Dallas home Wednesday shortly before 11:00 a.m.
Dallas homicide detectives responded to the 7300 block of Paldao Drive regarding the death of Norma Kakacek.
Police are investigating the case as a possible home invasion.
Police said neighbors grew worried about her when they hadn't seen her for a couple of days. They reached out to family and her relatives arrived to find her dead.
Police aren't releasing how she died, but said there were no visible signs of forced entry.
A Dallas Police source tells CBS11 the victim suffered "trauma to her throat."
Police said it appears the victim's 2005 gray Lexus RX330 SUV with Texas license plate "CPR9301" is missing.
"I couldn't believe it," said the victim's neighbor Larry Byrd. "I've been here for 50 years and I've never heard of anything tragic at all - certainly not murder... She was delightful just delightful. it breaks my heart to know this I guess we'll know more later."
