FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - A 61-year-old woman was found dead Friday in a house that burned on McGee Drive in Fort Worth.

According to firefighters, the woman was found in the bedroom of the house. The room had considerable smoke and fire that moved up in the attic.

The woman, whose name has not been released, lived at the home with her 94-year-old father, who was not at the residence at the time of the fire. Neighbors said they believe the woman had suffered a stroke that was physically and mentally debilitating.

The victim was also a smoker. According to neighbors, the father didn't like his daughter smoking, so she only did so when he was not in the house.

The father returned to the residence after the fire and Friday afternoon was inside the crime scene tape speaking with investigators.

A cause of death for the elderly woman has not been determined.

As a matter of normal procedure, homicide investigators were called to the scene.
