DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Police in Denton have arrested a 64-year-old woman for allegedly trying to hire someone to kill her husband.

Investigators with the Denton Police Department say they were contacted by members of the Corinth Police Department about the murder-for-hire plot last month. The witness, Thisa Robinson, told authorities that her sister, Jacquaeline Zalina Williams, was attempting to arrange to have her estranged husband killed.

Robinson said she had criminal ties when she was younger and claimed her sister had asked her is she "still had connections". Police set up hidden cameras in Robinson's apartment and recorded a meeting between the sisters.

Investigators say the video showed Robinson asking Williams if she was serious about being introduced to someone to kill her husband and the woman said she was.

On September 30 an undercover officer, posing as a hitman, met with Williams in a grocery store parking lot to discuss the murder plan. A hidden camera in the agent's unmarked vehicle recorded Williams telling the agent she had an abusive husband who she had been separated from for 20 years. Williams told the agent that although they were separated she had been receiving money from her husband, but that he was now threatening to end financial support.

Apparently Williams' motivation was a retirement fund that she would receive if her husband died. According to the affidavit, the woman showed the agent a picture of her husband on her cell phone and gave him the address and directions to where the man was living.

When asked how soon she wanted the murder to happen, Williams told the agent it could take place anytime after the 23rd of the month so she could "cash my check".  Williams then agreed to give the agent $50 now, for gas money to get him back to Denton, and another $1,500 in six months. When asked if she just wanted her husband found dead at his house Williams said "yes" and handed the agent $50.

Police arrested Jacquaeline Williams on Saturday, October 24. She is charged with Criminal Solicitation for the act of Capital Murder.

In addition to Denton police, the Texas Rangers and Texas Department of Public Safety are all assisting in the investigation.
