5 Telling Quotes Following Cowboys' 6th Straight Win

ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- It was a meaningful and emotional win for the Dallas Cowboys. For the first time since 2007, Tony Romo and the Cowboys moved to 6-1 on the season.

Let's look inside the Cowboys locker room to see how the players and coaches reacted to their 31-21 win over the visiting New York Giants.

1. "The other thing is I have to say that might have been the best game I've ever seen Tony Romo play. That was an outstanding game. He was really pinpointing the ball and making plays and protecting the ball." -- Jerry Jones

Was it the best game of Romo's career? Probably not.

Romo: 17-for-23, 279 yards, 3 TD, INT

But remember when Romo's back (and new contract) were the biggest concerns this offseason? Those questions have been answered.

2. "It was outstanding out there. We have such a strong contingent of fans across America, and obviously here they showed that today. They were a big part of that win and I think that is going to continue at home. It felt a lot like what Seattle had up there, so that is pretty big." -- Tony Romo

For the first time this season, the Cowboys enjoyed a legitimate homefield advantage.

New York was coaxed into three false starts -- one on a critical 4th down -- and the Dallas offense was not forced to use a silent count.

Romo compared the atmosphere to that in Seattle. That might be a stretch, but it's a step in the right direction.

3. "I think we did it as a group. Myself, Trav, Zack, Tryon, Parnell, Doug, and Big Leary. So it's hard for me to accept this individually and I definitely wish those guys were here." -- DeMarco Murray

The humble Demarco Murray refused to accept credit for becoming the first back EVER to rush for 100+ yards in seven consecutive games to open the season.

He instead praised the blocking of his offensive line -- one anchored by three former first round picks.

Murray deserves some of the credit. It's refreshing to see that he's not looking for it.

4. "Honestly, I feel like we haven't done anything. I think we just have to remain focused and take it day-by-day and try to do our job the best way we possibly can." -- Dez Bryant

Bryant was spectacular on Sunday, catching 9 balls for a season-high 151 yards. His reaction to a 6-1 start: "...we haven't done anything."

Say what you want about the media drinking the Cowboys Cool-Aid. It's pretty evident that the team is not.

5. "We've got a great D-Line. We've got guys that are just coached up to do the same thing. That's what I am coached to do. I go out there and try to do my job. As long as everybody does their job, this is the result we get." -- Tyrone Crawford

Quick: How many likely Pro Bowlers does Dallas have on defense this season? Outside of possibly Rolando McClain, zero?

The biggest star of the Dallas defense might just be coordinator Rod Marinelli.

Sure, the Cowboys bent on Sunday, yielding 352 yards to New York. But the swarming Dallas D was relentless in big spots.

There aren't a lot of names to boast about on this defense, but as Crawford says, they're doing their jobs.

BONUS: "We go to the bye week and we've got to come together here and figure out a way to get some of these things done that are most frustrating for us right now." -- Tom Coughlin

Good luck with that coach.
