5 Reasons You Should Look Forward To The 2014 World Cup

By: Maria Perez

Today marks exactly one week until the start of the 2014 Fifa World Cup held in Brazil. Aside from seeing how long the commentator can scream GOAL without passing out, there are a few other things to look forward to.

5. Brazil

Brazil is known for its extravagant partying, so what better place to hold an international celebration? Between Samba dancing in the streets and their famous Caipirinha drinks some may forget about the whole watching soccer part.

Disclaimer: DO not have more than 2 Caipirinha drinks… or maybe do… just don't say we didn't tell you so when you wake up in a strange place.

4. Rivalries

It's not every day an American can deliberately slide tackle a foreigner and it be totally acceptable.

3. Soccer Players & Brazilian Women

Some have no interest in the sport at all, but that's okay because the World Cup offers more than just 22 players running back and forth for 90 minutes.

For the Girls … Michael Angelo Carved bodies.

Luckily, the popular thing for players to do is take their shirts off once they score a goal. So you can pretend to actually care about the game when secretly you're just rooting for some abdominal exposure.

For the Guys…Every woman in Brazil

Brazil is home to arguably the most beautiful women in the world. With Adriana Lima and Gisele Bundchen on their roster, it's not much of a debate that there will be beautiful women attending the World Cup this year.

2. Riots

What is soccer without the die-hard hard fans waving smoke signals and jumping on fences on the verge starting a stadium wide brawl? Not soccer at all of course. The violent riots are sometimes what define the sport but you can't hate them for showing some passion right?

1.Unity

How often are you watching a game and everyone around you is rooting for the same team? More high fives for every goal, more rounds of beers and a smaller chance of getting into a bar fight with that drunk heckler. Win or lose the next round is on that German right?
